An independently funded meta-analysis study at the University of the Pacific found that avocado can lower bad cholesterol that is if you stop eating saturated and solid fats. Looking into 10 avocado studies with over 200 participants the research found that daily avocado consumption can significantly reduce total cholesterol, “bad” cholesterol, and triglycerides (type of fat floating in blood).
Eating one, one and a half avocados a day can lower bad cholesterol even in healthy folk with normal levels of the stuff.
The importance of keeping cholesterol levels low is to ensure cardiovsscular health, so that’s why experts recommend exercising and making healthier diet choices on a daily basis.
But there are many more reasons to include avocado into your diet. It’s full of fiber and makes a great substitution for butter a d mayonnaise (especially when mixed with yogurt). It’s also a great source of potassium, Vitamin C, and B-6.
