How To Lose Weight Without Counting Calories

Losing weight might be easier than you think. When you’re just starting your fitness journey you might get overwhelmed with all the advice and things on your to-do list but it doesn’t have to be that hard. You don’t need to start counting calories and macros right off the bat since you have a lot to do as it is. So if you want to skip the food diary you can still eat well and lose weight without getting too much fuss.

Lose Weight Without Counting Calories

Counting calories

First thing to do is to eliminate obvious threats to your progress – refined foods, sugar, trans fats. Once you do this, you’ll be able to see results immediately. Unless, of course, you start depriving yourself of food altogether. Make sure not only to eliminate ‘bad’ foods but also add good ones to replace the former. Go for complex carbs like veggies and whole grains, sweeten your meals with healthy foods, and opt for heart healthy fats like nuts and seeds.

Eat Big Salad

Eat a big salad at least once a day. It will not only fill you up good but will also ensure you’re getting enough fiber in your diet. Skip on ranch dressings and go for olive oil, vinegars, citrus juice, or yogurt.

Reconsider Your Snacks

Snacking is fine unless you’re reaching for candy bars, nutrition bars, and other packaged foods most of which are loaded with sugar and preservatives. Instead opt for fresh or frozen fruit, nuts and seeds, air popped popcorn without butter, homemade protein bars, or veggie slices.

Control Portions

When trying to lose weight portion control comes into play. Avoid getting seconds, try a smaller plate, and don’t overindulge in healthy foods as they too have calories.

These three simple principles can get you far in your weight loss journey especially if you’re exercising regularly and don’t skip meals. Cleaning up your diet can be daunting so don’t forget to treat yourself once in a while to prevent binges and keep your mental state in good balance.
